Sunrise on the Beach

September 1st, 5:48am.

The ocean is insistent.  Even when the early morning is supposed to be still and quiet, the waves don’t care.  I watch them crash over the reef out in the distance and then push up toward my feet.

“We are coming for you.”
“I’m ready.  Come.”

I am just as stubborn as the ocean.  Pushing forward, pulling back, but always moving and changing.

You are just as insistent as the ocean, Father.

That calls me to you.  We are made from the same stuff, you and the ocean and I.

“I’m coming for you.”
“I’m ready.  Come.”
