My name is Bethany, after the Biblical town. My mother named me that because she wanted to call me Beth and always told me that I was named after a place that Jesus loved to be. Bethany means house of poverty, which may not seem flattering at first, but I’ve always equated it with “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.”
I am married to a hunky football playing guy named Jason, and in August of 2014 we welcomed Eden Jane into our little family. I find it satisfyingly symmetrical that both Bethany and Eden are Biblical places where God walked with his people. I doubt Jason will let me continue that theme with all of our kids.
I work full time, dabble in cloth diapering and baby wearing, enjoy graphic design and advocate for human trafficking. I have friends and family all over the country and the world, and I love traveling to visit them. My next traveling goal is to visit Oberammergau, Germany for the Passion Play in 2020.
So that is me. I hope you enjoy my blog as much as I love writing it. In a small way it fulfills the part of me that wants to be influential and inspire people around me, so hopefully in sharing my struggles you can find encouragement for yours.
